Two months down! I can't believe we are in November already! The start of the year has been filled with energy, learning, and connection.
October brought many wonderful moments — from classroom projects and fall activities to family events that strengthen the bond between home and school. I’m grateful for the enthusiasm and support our families show each day, it truly makes a difference in the life of our school community.
As we move into November, we look forward to continued growth and new opportunities for learning. It’s a time to reflect on gratitude, celebrate our successes, and prepare for the busy months ahead. Please keep an eye out for upcoming events, conferences, and community activities.
Thank you for your ongoing commitment to our school and for helping make these first two months so successful. Together, we’re creating a wonderful year for our students.

The sixth grade students are asking for donations toward a field of flags to honor veterans in anticipation of Veterans Day. We are asking for $5 donations per flag to create the field to display during the week of Veterans Day (11/10-11/14). Donations will be forwarded, through the school, to Disabled American Veterans, a non-profit organization that advocates for and assists disabled veterans.
Donations can be sent in to school via cash or check made payable to Woodbury Heights Elementary School in enveloped labeled 'Field of Flags.'
Following the week of Veterans Day, flags can be picked up by sponsors at the end of the day on 11/14 OR may be left to be donated for future use at WHES.
There is more information on the DAV at the link below.
Our school is donating to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) to help raise money for Veterans who were injured fighting for our country.
Sponsor a flag to honor a veteran close to you and to donate to our disabled veterans! You can donate from today until Tuesday, November 4th!

Our school partners with the Jesse Lewis Choose Love Movement™, a nonprofit organization that promotes safer, more caring communities by teaching character and social-emotional skills. Their age-appropriate lessons help students learn courage, gratitude, forgiveness, and compassion in action.
The Choose Love Movement was founded by Scarlett Lewis in honor of her son, Jesse, who was tragically killed in the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in 2012. After discovering a message Jesse had written—“Nurturing Healing Love”—Scarlett was inspired to create a movement that teaches children and adults how to choose love, compassion, and courage in their daily lives.

What is your position at WHES?
2nd Grade Teacher
What I love most about teaching at WHES is that it truly feels like one big family. From the very first day I started, everyone has been so welcoming and supportive. I’m surrounded by the most amazing coworkers who lift each other up and make every day enjoyable. The most rewarding part is seeing the smiles on my students’ faces and knowing I get to make a positive difference in their lives.
When I’m not teaching, I love spending quality time with my friends and family. You can often find me at the beach in Wildwood. I also have a passion for photography and videography, capturing special moments and turning them into lasting memories.

I love that our little school has such a big heart! Students are very kind and accepting toward others. The staff at our school is the same way - with each other and with the students and families. It shows in the daily interactions in the hallways and classrooms and playground. Sometimes we don't realize how lucky we are to have a school as wonderful as WHES.

Spending time with my family, cuddling with my dog, and volunteering with organizations that advocate for the rights of others.
